The Soul Journal
Sacred Mesa Newsletter
"The world of nature moves in rhythms, patterns, and cycles - the passing of the seasons, the movement of the stars, the ebb and flow of the tides. The seasons do not push one another; neither do clouds race the wind across the sky. All things happen in their own good time - rising and falling and rising like ocean waves, in the circles of time. - Dan Millman
Summer storms. It's monsoon season in Sedona, one of my favorite cycles of nature. They are magical to watch, rolling in across the red mountaintops. They carry an exciting yet ominous energy, warning us of their forceful approach with dark, thunderous clouds. Arriving with what you might call Presence. The heavens open up, and we feel their fury and their blessing unleashed all at once. The winds of Creation call our name as the water cleanses us. And at the end of the storm, we are kissed with a perfect rainbow.
So, do we run away and hide from the storm, or do we stand and face its beauty and welcome the coming with open arms? It has been a season of great movement and and cosmic shifts. A time of restlessness, discord, anger, unrest. You may have been feeling it in your own life, your own monsoon season. Know that it's all part of our transformation and purification, the falling away of those energies that no longer serve our higher purpose. A time of change, where our past and future become one with the present, no longer standing separate and apart. Light workers recognize this as a time of soul evolution and initiation. Through initiation, we are changed and transformed. Such times can be difficult, painful, and bring us to our knees. Choose how you will respond. I have faced these cycles myself as I have moved through my healing journey. These are times of complete surrender, when the Divine Hand is the only thing to hold us in balance. Our power to ride through these seasons rests in that. If we rise up and meet them, our inner storms always bring a rainbow with Creation's voice, saying "And this too shall pass".
May these sacred storms cleanse and purify you in all things, that you may see the Light guiding your path, in love,
Stacey

Introducing a very special
Retreat Program
It was nearly a year ago when I found the lump in my body that was diagnosed as breast cancer. My own healing journey has inspired this new program, Living to Live , designed for the spiritual and holistic healing pathway that should be a key part of any woman's battle with breast cancer. Our greatest choice is how we will make our journey to the center. The first special program will be held November 9-14, 2007. Check for other dates in our 2007-2008 program calendar.

The Devil Came on Horseback

THE DEVIL CAME ON HORSEBACK exposes the tragedy taking place in Darfur as seen
through the eyes of an American witness who has since returned to the US to take action
to stop it. Using the exclusive photographs and first hand testimony of former U.S. Marine Captain
Brian Steidle, THE DEVIL CAME ON HORSEBACK takes the viewer on an emotionally
charged journey into the heart of Darfur, Sudan, where an Arab run government is
systematically executing a plan to rid the province of it’s black African citizens. As an
official military observer, Steidle had access to parts of the country that no journalist could
penetrate. He was unprepared for what he would witness and experience, including being
fired upon, taken hostage, and being unable to intervene to save the lives of young
children. Ultimately frustrated by the inaction of the international community, Steidle
resigned and returned to the US to expose the images and stories of lives systematically
destroyed.

Healing with
Essential Oils

Frankincense
(Boswellia carteri) |
|
Origin: A small tree native to North Africa and some Arab countries.
Since earliest antiquity, frankincense has been burned in sacred ceremony on altars and in temples. It is said the early monks used frankincense as part of their prayer and meditation practice, so profound are its effects in opening the spiritual centers of our being. Even today, frankincense is used as part of religious ceremony. One of its key properties is its ability to calm and deepen the breath, which promotes and enhances a prayerful and meditative state. Apply a few drops at the opening of your nostrils and in the center of your forehead as you begin your prayers. Just prior to meditation, sleep, and energy work, put a drop on the tip of your nose and a couple of drops on your chest and inhale deeply. Its calming effect on the emotions helps to relieve anxiety.

Healing Depression through Mind, Body and Spirit
The number of people suffering from depression and anxiety attacks has risen at an alarming rate. Western medicine would leave us believing the answer is contained in a pill labeled as an anti-depressant, anti-anxiety medication. An integrated, holistic view recognizes that depression and anxiety is a negative energy turned inward that gets stuck, and has usually developed over a lifetime of emotional suppression. Think about a balanced approach to healing this state with integrative modalities such as acupuncture, energy work, yoga, and meditation, which will move energy stuck in a downward spiral, combined with a healthy diet, supplements and exercise. This often involves a committed lifestyle change, but in making such changes, you will root out the source of the depression and embark on a pathway that has long-term, lasting effects.
Remember your spirit.

Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny. - Frank Outlaw |
