Gathering Power

When you open to the depths of your own feelings. When you own your fear, your sadness, your anger. When you visit places that awaken you. When you open to the texture of a stand of Ponderosa pines, a grove of cottonwoods, the life flow of a creek or river, or a vast expanse of multi-colored river shaped rocks. When you feel the wind and the sun and the rain as the world loving you. And when you let that loving in, you are Gathering Power.

Not something that you hold or possess, something that you open to and receive and let flow through. Not the gathering of information to weight your brain, but the sensation of becoming every texture of feeling within and without so that you float with the power of a cloud and you are the cloud and you are the sun that fills it with light.

This is a journey into the soul of the land. We take the personal road map created by the shamanic counseling session with us out into Nature. We immerse ourselves in the wilderness of rock, water, trees, clouds and sky which speaks to us and becomes an extension of this inner landscape. All of our feelings are mirrored in the natural world around us. Ultimately, there is no separation. We are this land and the land is us. To open all our senses is to awaken the heart. The land around us awakens us to our own inner landscape of feeling. And becoming both these worlds, is to create one world, The Circle of One. It is to stand in the center of all life. The wind becomes our breath, a gently meandering creek our sadness or joy, a thunder storm our rage and fire, the mountain our inner strength and inspiration. We feel the Source of our Power in all of creation. And in this act of becoming we are Present.
