Summer Storms

It's monsoon season in Sedona, one of my favorite cycles of nature. They are magical to watch, rolling in across the red mountaintops. They carry an exciting yet ominous energy, warning us of their forceful approach with dark, thunderous clouds. Arriving with what you might call Presence. The heavens open up, and we feel their fury and their blessing unleashed all at once. The winds of Creation call our name as the water cleanses us. And at the end of the storm, we are kissed with a perfect rainbow.

So, do we run away and hide from the storm, or do we stand and face its beauty and welcome the coming with open arms? It has been a season of great movement and and cosmic shifts. A time of restlessness, discord, anger, unrest. You may have been feeling it in your own life, your own monsoon season. Know that it's all part of our transformation and purification, the falling away of those energies that no longer serve our higher purpose. A time of change, where our past and future become one with the present, no longer standing separate and apart. Light workers recognize this as a time of soul evolution and initiation. Through initiation, we are changed and transformed. Such times can be difficult, painful, and bring us to our knees. Choose how you will respond. I have faced these cycles myself as I have moved through my healing journey. These are times of complete surrender, when the Divine Hand is the only thing to hold us in balance. Our power to ride through these seasons rests in that. If we rise up and meet them, our inner storms always bring a rainbow with Creation's voice, saying "And this too shall pass".

May these sacred storms cleanse and purify you in all things, that you may see the Light guiding your path, in love.

The Devil Came on Horseback

A Crisis in Darfur

It is an unspeakable tragedy. We must not look the other way at the brutal genocide taking place in Darfur. This is a must-see film based on an eyewitness account. Don't miss this important movie.

thedevilcameonhorseback.com

"THE DEVIL CAME ON HORSEBACK exposes the tragedy taking place in Darfur as seen through the eyes of an American witness who has since returned to the US to take action to stop it.

Using the exclusive photographs and first hand testimony of former U.S. Marine Captain Brian Steidle, THE DEVIL CAME ON HORSEBACK takes the viewer on an emotionally charged journey into the heart of Darfur, Sudan, where an Arab run government is systematically executing a plan to rid the province of its black African citizens. As an official military observer, Steidle had access to parts of the country that no journalist could penetrate. He was unprepared for what he would witness and experience, including being fired upon, taken hostage, and being unable to intervene to save the lives of young children. Ultimately frustrated by the inaction of the international community, Steidle resigned and returned to the US to expose the images and stories of lives systematically destroyed."

The Secret Revealed

I receive so many questions and comments about The Secret, I thought it was time to talk a little more about it. It has swept like a firestorm. Many people here in Sedona watch the DVD everyday, diligently taking notes to apply the affirmations in their daily lives.

The basic principle of the secret is what has long been known as the Law of Attraction. It recognizes that everything that is created, including ourselves, is vibrational energy. Every thought we have - and its underlying emotion - is manifested into tangible reality in our lives. Just reflect on that. How I choose to interact with every moment I greet is transformed into something that shapes my physical reality. Every thought of love, compassion, peace, sadness, anger, hate, and hostility, is a vibrational energy that attracts like energy. By changing our thinking and feeling patterns, we have a very direct influence, and we change what is created in our lives.

You may ask, "What about the really bad things that happen, like sickness, injury and death. Does this mean I brought it on myself?"

The short answer is Yes. Everything in our life is the pathway of our soul's evolution and a process of fulfilling our divine destiny. We are always drawing and pulling the moments and experiences into our lives that are meant to assist us in fulfilling this spiritual destiny. What we do with them, and how we meet them, is up to us to transform. In this rests our power and capacity to influence what moves through our lives, whether it be a relationship, health, vocation or finances. It's very powerful when you tap into it.

However, remember, there are several Laws of Spirit , and the law of attraction is but one that works in accord with all of the others to bring us closer to our center, in perfect balance and harmony.

One thing is for certain. The Secret is not a secret elixir or incantation that will magically make bad things go away and good things appear. It is not just positive thinking. It is not a button that gets conveniently flipped on and off intermittently. It is a path that becomes a way of life, a way of being, and a way of interacting in all aspects of life. Any growth and pursuit of happiness is ultimately about a journey through one's own inner labyrinth. This journey is one that includes spiritual discipline, commitment and dedication that creates inner movement that ultimately manifests as outer movement.

Prayer, meditation, spiritual journaling, and visualization are some of the many, many disciplines and tools available to build and nurture this inner foundation. What matters is that you create the foundation for the inner work to take place.

The real secret is that your spirit is waiting for you to catch up and remember.

Peaceful Warrior Takes a Second Bow

Are you paying attention? It came and went so quickly no one noticed. Lionsgate Films' Peaceful Warrior, an adaptation of Dan Millman's classic spiritual saga "The Way of the Peaceful Warrior", received a limited release last summer to a select few theaters around the country. Lionsgate must be learning awareness. In partnership with Universal Studios, they have wisely scheduled a second release to nationwide theaters March 30, 2007. Don't miss this riveting performance by Nick Nolte as wise sage Socrates who mentors Scott Mechlowicz, cast as a young Millman. The message will transform you in a profound way and leave you inspired and encouraged to walk the path. There are no ordinary moments.

The Passover Plot Revisited

It's already sparking conflict. The remains inside of yet another antique ossuary is up for debate among archaelogists, scholars, and theologians. Hopeful it contains the remains of Jesus' family, and suggesting Jesus and Mary were indeed married and bore a son, some believe it challenges The Resurrection. I say not necessarily. How can we challenge faith? Eyewitnesses to The Resurrection and The Ascension attested to its Great Mystery. They gave us a testment that is so deeply embedded in the spirit of believers, that anything unearthed in this ossuary only challenges the limitations in our thinking and understanding of our fragile human existence and knowledge of God.

And is it just a silly coincidence that Oscar-winning director Cameron's documentary, The Lost Tomb of Jesus, airing March 4 on the Discovery Channel, is getting network time as we enter the holy days of Passover and Easter? Can we see The DaVinci Code sequel on the horizon?

Ssshhh! Is "The Secret" really A Secret ?

The book and DVD are selling like hotcakes. Spiritual communities around the world are all a-twitter. It's really not such a secret. Spiritual and personal development gurus Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith, Jack Canfield, James Ray, and other notables join together in a blockbuster package that has made it #1 on Amazon.com. If some of their faces are familiar, it's because you saw them in What the Bleep Do we Know!?. Now that Oprah has endorsed The Secret, it's sure to stay on the Hot List.

But what makes it a secret? Really, not so much. If you've been on a spiritual path, and know the laws of attraction - that what you think and feel, so shall you become - you're already living the secret.
The Secret captures what most of us know at a fundamental level: we reap that which we sow. But it delves into a deeper look at our metaphysical relationship with everything around us and takes you a step farther on your journey of understanding: Thought creates form, and every thought, word, and emotion is a magnet for what comes into our lives. Healing, abundance, and peace are all within us. We only have to learn to access it. If you already know these things but are ready for a tune-up, it's a good affirmation and refresher course. If you don't, it's time to tune in.

Spread the word and don't keep it a secret!
