The Secret Revealed

I receive so many questions and comments about The Secret, I thought it was time to talk a little more about it. It has swept like a firestorm. Many people here in Sedona watch the DVD everyday, diligently taking notes to apply the affirmations in their daily lives.

The basic principle of the secret is what has long been known as the Law of Attraction. It recognizes that everything that is created, including ourselves, is vibrational energy. Every thought we have - and its underlying emotion - is manifested into tangible reality in our lives. Just reflect on that. How I choose to interact with every moment I greet is transformed into something that shapes my physical reality. Every thought of love, compassion, peace, sadness, anger, hate, and hostility, is a vibrational energy that attracts like energy. By changing our thinking and feeling patterns, we have a very direct influence, and we change what is created in our lives.

You may ask, "What about the really bad things that happen, like sickness, injury and death. Does this mean I brought it on myself?"

The short answer is Yes. Everything in our life is the pathway of our soul's evolution and a process of fulfilling our divine destiny. We are always drawing and pulling the moments and experiences into our lives that are meant to assist us in fulfilling this spiritual destiny. What we do with them, and how we meet them, is up to us to transform. In this rests our power and capacity to influence what moves through our lives, whether it be a relationship, health, vocation or finances. It's very powerful when you tap into it.

However, remember, there are several Laws of Spirit , and the law of attraction is but one that works in accord with all of the others to bring us closer to our center, in perfect balance and harmony.

One thing is for certain. The Secret is not a secret elixir or incantation that will magically make bad things go away and good things appear. It is not just positive thinking. It is not a button that gets conveniently flipped on and off intermittently. It is a path that becomes a way of life, a way of being, and a way of interacting in all aspects of life. Any growth and pursuit of happiness is ultimately about a journey through one's own inner labyrinth. This journey is one that includes spiritual discipline, commitment and dedication that creates inner movement that ultimately manifests as outer movement.

Prayer, meditation, spiritual journaling, and visualization are some of the many, many disciplines and tools available to build and nurture this inner foundation. What matters is that you create the foundation for the inner work to take place.

The real secret is that your spirit is waiting for you to catch up and remember.

Thy Will, Not Mine

Dear God,

Allow me to be a servant of Your will,
Your grace,
Your mercy.

Time and again,
I return to this place of grace,
the knowing of love, mercy and forgiveness
in our Lord, Yeshua.

Even Your name takes my breath away
and I would do anything
in Your light, Your music.

I always return to this same place,
that there is nothing else, no one else, no where else.
Nothing outside of our heartbeat in God,
resting in His presence.

Let my life
be a testimony to this truth.

May I be blessed
and in this blessing,
return this blessing to You.

May my life be an outpouring of Your Spirit.
Help me to rest more deeply, dependently, in You.
If my life is a shining illustration of Your grace and mercy,
Your love, Your omniscience, Your omnipresence,
I know I am living in accord.

May you always be my life and sustain me
Thank you, Father.

Amen.

Receiving

Let me be strong
Let me be brave
In receiving Thy grace
and Thy love.

For it is more than I feel
I can bear
so magnificent in its glory.

Thou art the power and
Light and Mercy
of all things
to come and not yet to come.

I have come to take my place
at your Holy altar,
to light the Eternal Flame of my soul

I stand with offerings of incense
and prayers of praise
Yet I need only to bring myself,
kneeled in truthful surrender.

Amen.
